The role of the radiator as a car engine cooling tool.
The radiator contains a liquid or air that regulates the heat in the car engine so it doesn't break easily.
The definition of a destroyed radiator, can be in the form of a leak or because there is a blockage in the radiator, with several characteristics as below.
1. Car Overheats
Overheat is a condition where the engine experiences excessive heat. It is common when the damage to the radiator is chronic because you never check the radiator. This situation can be caused by a dead radiator fan or because the radiator water runs out. The radiator is the most important element in cooling the engine temperature. Because the following elements are about to release engine heat into the air. Until if the engine temperature touches the red level, one of them can be caused by a destroyed radiator.
2. Air Radiator Volume Out
Cooling water acts as a medium to deliver heat from the engine to the radiator. The air conditioner that always runs out, can be caused by the absence of a leak in the cooling mechanism, one of which is the radiator. Leaks in the radiator can be caused by the radiator having experienced a collision (eg being hit from the front) or being hit by a stone.
3. Radiator Input Hose Leaking
The input hose is generally located above the radiator tub. The role of this hose is to deliver high-temperature water from the engine to the radiator. Because there is high temperature water in the hose, so there is no big leak. But if the cooling process in the radiator is smooth, it's not a problem. The problem is when there is a blockage in the radiator. This will assume the movement of coolant air from the engine to the radiator, until the pressure on the radiator inlet hose will rise and a leak occurs. If you have a problem with the intake hose leaking frequently, it could be that the problem is in the radiator.
4. Water Drops on Bottom Radiator
The radiator water is leaking, it must be seen that the leak is leaking because the leaking water will go down. Now take a look under your car, are there any drops of water that fit under your car? But be careful, expect to distinguish the dripping water from the AC exhaust which is generally under the separator between the cabin and the engine room of the car.
5. Rust on Surface Radiators
If you don't believe it, take a look at the radiator surface. Indeed, the surface of the radiator is obstructed by the AC condenser in front and behind the cooling fan. However, you can look around the cooling fan to see the surface of the radiator. Use a flashlight to see if there is corrosion, or visible water absorption. These two things are a sign that there is damage to your car's radiator. Or you can also see the cross section of the bottom side of the radiator tub from under the car. From there it can be seen if rust has grown due to corrosion.
6. Mud on Radiator Cover
Air radiators that can never be exchanged for natural damage. Generally, mud will appear which has the potential to block the radiator flow. Therefore, when the engine is cold, try to open the radiator cap. If there is mud on the radiator cap and neck, it can be said that it is time for you to drain the radiator water to prevent further damage.
