Netgenz - Politic International | The Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, explained that Australia had sent contributions in the form of 15 armored vehicles to Indonesia as a form of cooperation in the defense sector. "Australia has donated 15 armored vehicles, and we are negotiating about providing more vehicles shortly," Prabowo said in a virtual journalists' meeting after meeting the Australian Defense Minister, Peter Dutton, in Jakarta, Thursday (9/9). In his meeting with Dutton, Prabowo discussed opportunities for cooperation in training the armed forces of the two countries.

In addition, Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the contribution of clinical equipment from Australia, and their quick response during the operation to secure the KRI Nanggala 402 submarine, last May. At the meeting, Indonesia and Australia signed several memorandums of agreement (MoU) in the defense sector, namely Countering Terrorism, Cooperation and Emerging Cyber Technology, and Arrangement on Defense Cooperation. According to Prabowo, the agreement could become an important legal umbrella for deep defense cooperation in the future.
